Austin’s weather has been so warm lately. The temperatures have been hovering in the mid 70′s for weeks. So who would have expected a cold snap last Saturday morning?!? Mom and Dad (and photographer) were freezing. Who is the only person who DIDN’T mind the cold weather?… This little guy.

Last time I had a photo playdate with this family, there were lots of tears. Our handsome boy was lacking a nap that day and I was afraid his ever-so-pregnant mom was going to cry too! We have come a long way since that solemn day almost a year ago. This session was nothing but [...]

These photos are the definition of a doting father. To watch the love in his eyes as he played and danced with his little girl was amazing. Sure, it’s a little late…but Happy Father’s Day.

There are theories about birth order in families. They say that the oldest strives to please and can be bossy (I was the oldest…that explains everything), the middle child is adaptable but gets lost in the shuffle sometimes, and the baby is the clown and the risk-taker. I always think it’s best to let my subjects decide on locations for our shoots. Our friends invited us out to their lovely house for a pizza pajama party with our girls. From the views to the food to the laughter…we had a great time! And the kiddos stayed up until 10:00. What a party! V. said it was “SUPER DUPEY FUN!”

Those eyes! That shock of blonde hair! And all the cuddles I could handle. These gorgeous boys were so loving that they would come give me hugs between shots. Seriously. Hugging me and holding my hand. And baby sister? She was just as happy and charming. I couldn’t get enough of those chubby little arms [...]

I like to think I have a way with children. Is it my charm, my nurturing nature, or the bubbles and candy I offer at photo shoots? Who knows, really… But this beautiful girl took a little while to warm up. Her sweet mom was so lovely and apologetic. But it didn’t take too long [...]

Extreme heat and drought can turn a girl superstitious. My great, great, grandmother was a Cherokee Indian. So that gives me license to do a rain dance in my front yard. And in case it helps feed into the ritual, I will post a photo of my daughter playing in the rain. Who knows, maybe [...]
